The story begins when Eregon, Safira and Eregon's cousin Roran go to slay the Razac (evil beetlelike creatures). There they slay both of them and and rescue Rorans' fiancée and the local butcher for Eregon and Roran's destroyed village. The butcher goes to Elesmira (the elf city) Roran and his fiancée go straight to the camp of the humans and Urgals. Eregon stays in the wilderness for a while then he comes across an inn in the inn he sees Araya and together. They go back to the village and he sees men training with swords. HE NEEDS A SWORD! Meanwhile Roran isn't doing to good and one day he goes out on an army expedition and realizes that the some of the enemies cannot feel pain! Also Eregon and an Urgal friend Go to see Orik (a dwarf) without Safira...
Like Eregon and Eldest it was one of my favorite books of all time.(I CANT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE TO COME OUT!) but it had its up and downs. Unlike Eregon and Eldest it didn't have a slow start but there was something about it that wasn't perfect my rating 9.5/10 by obleo
